Piñata Yadda Yadda: The History of the Piñata

Listen on Apple Podcasts · Spotify

In this episode of Ctrl-F (“Control-F”), Jeff Sarris and Amara Andrew celebrate National Piñata Day the only way they know how: by providing historical context to these hollow paper bodies of fun. Unlike their bodies, however, the history of piñatas is far from being hollow. Their history is as richly colored as their exteriors and as mysterious as the identity of the blindfolded attacker. Jeff and Amara explore the birthplace of piñatas which, as it turns out, may not be Mexico after all.
